HaDEA
PODiaCar is an initiative within the strategic framework of the European Digital and Health Executive Agency (HaDEA), a project that spans multiple medical disciplines and other specialized fields.
Risk factors
PODiaCar focuses on the assessment of risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and type 2 diabetes (T2D) in children with obesity. The main objective is to develop a predictive and preventive model for these diseases.
Early diagnosis
Through early diagnosis and implementation of personalized interventions, PODiaCar aims to promote prevention as a key strategy to counteract the onset of these diseases in young people.
Clinical Data
Developing a comprehensive model to address pediatric obesity and its related issues, such as CVD and T2D; Constructing a predictive tool for assessing the risk of T2D and CVD, utilizing clinical data, patient history, dietary habits, physical activity, and overall lifestyle;
Healthy lifestyles
Establishing a digital twin to effectively manage pediatric obesity and its associated complications; Produce a cartoon to start a widespread awareness campaign promoting healthy lifestyles, targeting nursery and primary school children as well as their families.

PODiaCar comprises a consortium of universities and health communities from UE countries: Buzzi Children’s Hospital, Milano, Italy, The University of Pavia, Italy, University Of Granada, Spain, Asomi College of Sciences, Malta, LUNEX University Differdange, Luxembourg.
Goal
It aims to improve the fight against paediatric obesity and prevent Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) risk.
