PODiaCar is a project proposal co-ordinated by Buzzi Children’s Hospital-ASST-Fatebenefratelli-Sacco a nationwide paediatric centre in Italy. The PODiaCar project is designed to combat pediatric obesity and diabetes. It addresses the urgent need to tackle the increasing prevalence of these non-communicable diseases among children and adolescents across Europe. Recent epidemiological data highlights alarming rates of pediatric obesity and diabetes, posing significant health risks and substantial burdens on healthcare systems. In response to this public health challenge, the PODiaCar project aims to utilize cutting-edge digital technologies, including artificial intelligence and digital twins, to develop innovative solutions for the early diagnosis, prevention, and management of pediatric obesity and diabetes. By leveraging advanced data analytics, predictive modeling, and personalized interventions, the project aspires to transform pediatric healthcare delivery and enhance health outcomes for vulnerable populations. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and stakeholder engagement, the initiative seeks to promote a comprehensive approach to pediatric health and disease prevention, ultimately contributing to the well-being of future generations.
